2016 Goals

I may be a few days behind, but I wanted to take time and think about what I truly wanted to accomplish in 2016. 2015 was a wonderful year. There were a few bumps along the way, but overall, it was filled with so much love and happiness. It will be hard to beat last year, but here’s to trying!

 

Running Goals:

  • Run 24:30 in the 5k
  • Run 1:55 in the half marathon
  • Run 4:30 in the marathon
  • Volunteer for more races
  • Race a new distance
  • Run at least 6 half marathons
  • Run 1000 miles

 

Home Goals:

  • Expand and keep up on our garden
  • Finish the spare bedroom
  • Redo our kitchen
  • Make some big furniture purchases

 

Personal Goals:

  • Try 8 new recipes
  • Travel somewhere new
  • Read at least 10 books
  • Lift twice a week
  • Do ab work three times a week
  • Save more money
  • Advance my career
  • Be ready for the week every Sunday (laundry, lunches, etc.)
  • Be Happy!

 

Some goals are a bit lofty, and some I think shouldn’t be too hard to do. My biggest goal this year is to better myself, whether that means as a runner, personally or as an employer, we’ll just have to see. It’s going to be a good year, I can feel it!

2015 Goals

Welcome to 2015! The best way to start off the year is to set up some goals for the next 365 days. 2014 was my best year of running yet, so it will be hard to top it, but there will be some pretty amazing things coming up this year. Here’s a list of my goals that I hope to accomplish in 2015!

Running:

  • Run 1:55 in the half marathon
  • Break 24:30 in the 5k
  • Volunteer for a race
  • Race a new distance
  • Run at least 5 half marathons
  • Run 900 miles
  • Race at least 5 trail races
  • Run one race in each month
  • Run 2,015 combined miles with Mallory and Mo
  • Attempt a 365 day run streak

Personal:

  • Try 8 new recipes
  • Travel somewhere new
  • Read at least 10 books
  • Do something new
  • Bike at least 15 miles a month
  • Do yoga once a week
  • Lift twice a week
  • Do ab work three times a week
  • Get married!

2014 Goals

Happy New Year! Hope you had a fun and safe night bringing in the new year. We celebrated in Chicago, post to follow.

Anyway, it’s easy to say that 2013 wasn’t my best year of running, and that’s something I definitely want to change for 2014. I’m already optimistic that this year is going to be great. I have a lot of goals that I want to accomplish, or at least attempt. I also have other goals I’d like to work on through the next 365 days. 2014 will be a year to become a better me!

2014 Goals

Running:

  • Break 2:00 in the half marathon
  • Break 24:30 in the 5k
  • Raise $1,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
  • Volunteer for a race
  • PR in all distances
  • Run at least 6 half marathons
  • Run 600 miles

Personal:

  • Try at least 15 new recipes
  • Plan a vacation for somewhere new
  • Achieve and maintain a healthy weight
  • Read at least 10 books
  • Donate 1/4 of my clothes
  • Try something completely out of my element
  • Bike at least 20 miles a month
  • Get back into yoga

Blogging:

  • Own my own domain
  • Blog at least 3 times a week
  • Update the blog layout
  • Use a blog calendar

I’m really looking forward to 2014 and all that it brings. Hopefully I can accomplish all these goals and more!

A Look Into 2013

2012 was absolutely fabulous, but that doesn’t mean that 2013 can’t be any better. After the year of races, I’m taking a step back and slowing things down. I ended 2012 with a bit of a burn out, but I’m hoping I can fall back in love with running and enjoy it more than ever. I also want to focus on a few things I’ve been neglecting over the past few years including cooking and eating healthy.

2013 Goals

Running:

  • Run a sub 2:00 half marathon
  • Run 800 miles
  • PR in the 5k
  • Run two half marathons in two new states
  • Volunteer at races

Personal

  • Travel
  • Learn German
  • Learn to cook and eat healthier
  • Stress less
  • Read more, at least 10 books
  • Cut out unnecessary purchases

I actually really enjoyed 2012, so I’m nervous that 2013 won’t be as good. But each day and year is what you make of it, so here’s to an even better 2013! Happy New Year!

 

 

Year in Review

Here it is almost 2012, and looking back at 2011, it was an amazing year. So much happened to help me grow, discover new possibilities and create new challenges for the future. I’ve learned so much and I can only hope to do so much in the next year to make it just as great. Here’s my 2011:

  • I tried snowboarding for the first time and I am no pro
  • Packers won the Super Bowl!!
  • I traveled to Arizona for the first time, Phoenix is amazing!
  • I ran my first half marathon! CLE!
  • I vacationed in North Carolina, and added another lighthouse to my list
  • I got a new job! Which I love, btw.
  • I moved into a new apartment, it’s fabulous 🙂
  • I went to the Packers/Browns pre season game. Finally saw the pack in action
  • I traveled to California for the first time, not my state, but fun to visit
  • I ran a relay race, Muskies Party of 5 dominated Akron
  • I ran four half marathons this year! Not bad for a beginner
  • Got my passport. Now I can really travel
  • I got my MBA! Best accomplishment of my life

I honestly can’t believe how crazy this past year has been. I can’t wait for 2012. Happy New Year everyone!
