It’s a new year, which means it’s time to reveal the new race calendar! As I mentioned in my year review, last year was the year of races. But towards the end of the year, I was burnt out. Not a total surprise after non stop training for 12 months and the addition of the holidays and busy schedules. This year I want to make sure I enjoy every run. I want to fall in love with running more than I ever have.
I’ve taken a step back and added mostly 5k’s to the schedule this year. They’re short, fun, and if I feel the need to run more that day I can always add on extra miles. I also have a handful of half marathons I’m interested in, including two out of state races. The only thing missing? A marathon. I’m taking this year off from the marathon, at least for now. But 2014 I will definitely try my hand at it.
Here’s my tentative 2013 schedule…
January 13, 2013 – 3M Half Marathon

What races are you looking forward to in 2013? Are we running any of the same races?
Jealous that you’re running the Flying Pig half. To date, that’s been one of my favorite races. How committed are you to each of these? It’s a huge list, and I’d be impressed if you managed to knock ’em all out given how early it is in the year.
(I say that because I’m prone to changing race schedules on a weekly basis.)
I’ve never run Flying Pig, but always heard good things about it. I’m really hoping to run all of the races, but you know how life is, sometimes things come up. I’m also hoping to add a few more towards the far as not all websites are updated yet.
Looks like a nice jam packed year!!! Good luck with everything!
Thank you!
Shorter races or not, that is a shiz ton of races! I also get burned out from racing though. I took it easy on races this year and was glad I did. I kinda like signing up for spur of the moment races. Those are fun. But of course I’m looking forward to 3M the MOST THIS YEAR! Can’t wait to see you again!
Let’s make that…”meet you!” haha. Why did I say again? I do not know.
Loving all the races on this list!!!
Wow, what a great schedule! also.. HOLY COW THAT’S A TON OF RACES! ❤
